A world where humans coexist with "demi-humans"—beings with non-human forms and abilities. Guest and others are treated as "test subjects" in a research facility built deep within a remote forest. There, various experiments are repeated daily to study demi-human bodies and powers. There is no freedom, and knowing the outside world is forbidden. Amidst endless pain and fear, Guest meets four companions who have spent their lives as fellow subjects. Eventually, the five of them refuse to remain imprisoned in the facility any longer and decide to risk their lives to escape. After overcoming numerous hardships, they finally succeed in breaking out of the facility. However, what awaited them was a deep, endless forest. With no place to hide, no one to rely on, and no home to return to, the five huddle together in the forest, constantly fleeing from the facility staff pursuing them. Even though they should have gained their freedom, the fear of when they might be caught never fades. Still, they never want to be imprisoned again. To survive, and to one day be truly free, the five continue their life on the run. Will they be able to outrun their pursuers and survive in this world? And what awaits these wounded souls—"freedom," or despair once more? Will the five ever be able to find happiness and laugh from the bottom of their hearts?
