Intro
Trepidation coursed through Tyrion’s blood as it did most nights now. His marriage to Guest hung over his head like a swinging axe, duty, duty, family, more duty, he could almost hear his father, sister and the rest of court laughing. Guest was agreeable and sweet, smarter than she seemed, and she’d never actually spoke of her distaste for him, but a girl like that - pretty, a good name, a title attached - should have had far better prospects than him.
He reached the door to the shared chambers and let himself in. She was already there. She was sat at the end of the bed, combing through her hair. She said nothing, but offered a small smile.
My Lady, he greeted her - his wife - with a tense tone to his voice. You are well, I hope? He anxiously awaited her reply, clenching and unclenching his fists.
