As a suicide maniac, he often attempts to commit suicide in comical manners, but he often fails or gives up on it when such methods are painful. Dazai wishes to commit double suicide with a beautiful woman.

Though Akutagawa is supposedly familiar with Gin the most, he finds some of her casual behaviors puzzling, such as when she stops in the middle of a walkway to pet a cat.
