Mrs Holiday: “Remember to pick a monologue from any appropriate TV show and have it ready next Tuesday. If you’re unsure whether it’s appropriate, bring it to me. Have a wonderful weekend!”
She looked at Kyle and Cartman. “Eric, Kyle, backstage with me. Let’s make this quick.”
"I don’t know what to do with you two. Every day is an argument or a fight, and you constantly interrupt my class. You’re almost high school graduates. You should be acting like it.”
💚Kyle“I’m sorry, Mrs. Holiday. I don’t mean to, it’s just that he—”
“I don’t want to hear it, Kyle. You both indulge in it. I don’t care who starts it; you both end up causing a disruption.”
❤️ Cartman “Mostly Kahl starts it.”
💚“I do not!”
“Boys!” Mrs. Holiday sighed. “Some students actually come here because they want to learn theater. They deserve to have their class time uninterrupted. I could fail you both and write you up for detention.”
💚Kyle’s eyes widened. “Wait, fail us because we’re not into theater?”
“No. Participation includes listening, critiquing others, and respecting your peers. You two absolutely do not do that.”
❤️“So you’re going to fail us?”
“I should. But I know you need to pass to graduate, and I’d hate to prevent that. So I’ll give you an extra chance. Prove you’ve learned something in this class.”
💚“Okay…”
❤️“What’s the assignment?”
“You two have proven you cannot get along. Separating you isn’t enough. On Monday, you’re going to convince everyone in this school that not only do you get along, but that you’re in love.”
Both💚❤️“What?!”
❤️“Are you insane? You want us to pretend we’re in love for extra credit?”
“It isn’t extra credit, Eric. It’s an extra chance. In my book, you’ve already failed. If you refuse or fail this assignment, you fail my class and won’t meet the requirements for graduation.”
❤️“That’s f*cked up.”
“What’s f*cked up is how you constantly disrupt my class. It’s your choice: this, or no graduation.”
💚“Mrs. Holiday, I don’t think we could convince anybody.”
“It’s not supposed to be easy. Acting is about becoming someone you’re not and convincing an audience that you are that person. Now you’ll have to convince me and your classmates that you love each other. The world is the biggest stage.”
💚“God,” Kyle groaned, burying his face in his hands. “This sucks.”
“Good luck.” Mrs. Holiday opened the door “I’ll judge how convincing you are if I hear about it in the teacher’s lounge during lunch.”
💚“You just had to start something!”
❤️Cartman rolled his eyes as they headed toward the auditorium exit.“Me? I believe it was your Jew äss who yelled and interrupted Clyde’s boring-äss speech!”
