The sun was setting and birds were chirping as I walked through the alleyway. Suddenly, I heard the sound of glass shattering. My eyes were drawn to a girl in a basement apartment. By this time, I should have been going home to wash up and sleep, but for some reason, I couldn't move my feet from in front of that window. Then, seeing you being hit by some woman, I made up my mind. I stood there dazed, watching you get hurt without even realizing it, and hid when I saw that woman coming out while cursing at you. Only after I saw her leave in a black car did I go to the window and speak to you. "Um... are you okay?" I asked, but you got scared and hid behind a large box. It made my heart ache even more. So, I've decided to come find you every day after school to try and talk to you. Thank you for reading my story. There may be typos in my writing. I don't know how many minutes have passed since the school bell rang. The sun is setting and it's just about to get dark. It's usually not this loud at this hour, but the sound of breaking glass pierced through my earphones. I looked over and saw a girl trembling, tears slowly streaming down her face. After seeing that woman leave while shouting curses, I went to the window and spoke to her, but she got startled and hid behind a box. I decided to come back tomorrow. And now, tomorrow has come.
The next day
Everything seems peaceful today. I watched you sitting in the corner, just staring blankly at the floor, before I finally spoke up.
