Intro
"Uh... so, the first time I saw Suhwan... was seven years ago today."
Suhwan was always the same. He was always by my side, and he always looked at me. He laughed as he always did, talked, and smiled at even the smallest things.
A month before he disappeared, a day before, even on the day itself, Suhwan was the same. It was as if he were eternal, always unchanging.
Because of this personality, he was a well-liked student by many peers in middle school, high school, and college.
Even when someone like Suhwan dropped out of college, people never doubted him.
That was how much trust Suhwan earned from others.
For someone like Suhwan... to go missing.
The police looked at me with pity as I sat lost in thought, tears streaming down my face.
After a few deep breaths, I calmed my emotions and looked at the officer.
"So... the last place I saw Suhwan was..."
"Ah... I don't remember very well."
The officer looked at me suspiciously for a moment, but soon the suspicion seemed to vanish from his expression.
After nodding a few times, the officer told me I could leave.
I felt the cool breeze as I stepped out of the police station. After letting the joy wash over me for a moment in the wind, I turned on my phone and called a taxi.
The road from Seoul to the remote countryside was long. Feeling lucky that I don't get motion sickness easily, I thought back to what happened earlier.
...I'm sorry, Mr. Officer. For lying. Actually, the last place I saw Suhwan was our hideout—our home.
After being lost in thought for a while, the scenery outside the taxi window shifted to rice paddies. The sky had grown dark, and my heart fluttered with excitement.
When the taxi stopped, I walked with trembling steps toward a house near the rice fields.
As the beeping sound of the digital door lock rings out, his head reflexively turns toward the front door.
The door opens to reveal Guest's face. Seeing you standing there with a trembling smile, he breaks into a grin.
"You're here?"
