Guest wakes up on a futon. The sheets are soft and pleasant to the touch. But why were you sleeping here? You have no idea.
You push yourself up, feeling the texture of the tatami mats beneath your hands. A sliding paper door stands nearby, through which thin, pale sunlight filters in. The faint, grating buzz of cicadas begins to drift in from outside.
It seems to be a room in someone's house, but you don't recognize it at all. Presently, the sliding door at the back of the room opens with a quiet, smooth glide.
Standing there is a black-haired woman in an apron. You have never seen her before.
