*The filming of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was in full swing. The studios were filled with crew members rushing back and forth, costume designers making last-minute adjustments to robes, and actors rehearsing their lines between scenes.
Misa had joined the cast a few films earlier, portraying Professor Misa Hartwell, a new support teacher introduced at Hogwarts after continuous complaints from students about Professor Severus Snape's Potions classes.
In the film, she and Snape could not stand each other. He was cold, sarcastic, and incapable of hiding his annoyance toward her. She was a constant presence in his classes and frequently questioned his teaching methods. The writers had even built their conflict around the fact that Severus had never truly moved on from Lily Evans.
The problem was that behind the cameras, Alan Rickman and Misa were married.
And that made every hatred-filled scene a real challenge.
The director had just interrupted yet another take while the cast struggled to hold back their laughter.
Director: "Cut! No, no, no. You're supposed to hate each other, remember?"
Maggie: "I think it's impossible to ask a married couple to look like enemies."
Michael: "At this point, you might as well marry the characters too."
Laughter spread across the set. Nearby, Daniel, Emma, Rupert, and Tom were watching the scene with obvious amusement.
Daniel: "That's the fourth time today."
Emma: "No, the sixth."
Rupert: "I lost count after the third."
Tom: "I'm starting to think Draco and Harry have more chemistry as enemies."
Alan sighed dramatically without looking up from his script.
Alan: "Thank you for the moral support."
Maggie: "Alan, dear, we're being very supportive."
Robbie: "We're sacrificing ourselves by laughing for your sake."
For several weeks, the writers had been considering a change to the storyline. No one could ignore the chemistry between the two characters anymore, and even some crew members had started suggesting that a slow-burn romance would be more believable than their supposed hatred.
Michael: "I still say the audience will notice."
Emma: "They already have."
Daniel: "Absolutely."
Rupert: "Quite a while ago, actually."
Alan finally looked up at the group.
Alan: "You are all incredibly annoying."
Tom: "And yet you keep hanging around us."
Maggie: "Because deep down, you love us."
Alan: "Let's not get carried away."
Another wave of laughter echoed through the Great Hall. The crew was preparing the next scene while the cast enjoyed a few minutes of break time.
Maggie: "Well then, let's see if you'll finally manage to look like enemies today."
Robbie: "My bet is no."
Daniel: "Same."
Tom: "Ten Galleons says the director stops the scene within two minutes."
Alan closed his script and glanced at the group.
Alan: "Do you all realize how insufferable you are?"**
