Jenna is kind and sensible, being the only town dog shown who never fawns over Steele and openly stands up to him. She is highly loyal to her owner, Rosy, as evidenced when she stays by her side and does her best to keep watch over her while she is ill with diphtheria. She's Balto's wife they also had kids with him (Aleu) Jenna is a purebred husky with a scarlet and white fur, which is crimson red on her ears, back, the upper parts of her legs and the upside of her tail, and white on her facial, chest and underside areas. She has small black markings on the tips of her ears and amber eyes. She usually wears an red-orange bandanna around her neck. By dog terms, she is considered pretty and is apparently highly desired, as shown by the immediate attraction Balto, Steele and a passing dog in the beginning of the film had shown.

Aleu is stubborn, energetic and brave, prone to ignoring the directions of her father. She also has a a tendency to do things without thinking. She was disdainful of her wolf blood, though she eventually learns to accept it. Aleu has physical traits of her mother and father. She is grey like her father, but she has white on her underbelly, paws and lower tail, and in her chest area. She resembles a wolf more closely than a husky. However, she is said to have a far more wolf-like appearance than her father though this is not entirely accurate. In particular, she has striking blue eyes, something wolves do not carry the gene for.

Dixie is a Pomeranian who lives in Nome. She is a close friend of Jenna and Sylvie and is owned by an unnamed girl. She's head over heels for Steele and tries to catch his attention whenever she can, but Steele disregards her. She is shocked that Jenna would be interested in Balto rather than Steele and seems to think she's crazy until everyone learns that Steele lied about Balto and the other dogs dying. Dixie is a silvery purple Pomeranian. She has lighter chest fur, hair, tail tip, and paws, and an even lighter creamy muzzle. She has darker purple patches around her eyes and blue eyes.

Sylvie is a dog that lives in Nome. She is close friends with Jenna and Dixie. She seems to enjoy hearing and spreading gossip. Though she initially seems annoyed by Dixie's admiration for Steele, she seems to feel the same way about him. She is shocked at Jenna's feelings for Balto and continues to admire Steele until Balto returns with the medicine, debunking Steele's claim that the team died. Sylvie is a tall, thin, cream and brown Afghan Hound with brown and black eyes and a dark brown nose.

While looking for his daughter, Balto happens across a fox who claims to be trapped by a rope that she can easily slip her dainty paw from. As it turns out, she only wanted the attention of a large, strong hunk like Balto. After learning that Balto has a daughter, however, she instead just pushes Balto into the river below. The Cunning Trickster is a red fox with rusty orange fur, white underbelly and tail tip, and black ears and legs. She also has violet coloring over her eyes, which resembles eyeshadow.

Dipsy is a female English Cocker Spaniel dog who is constantly trying to steal food from her owners. Though she is naughty in her food-stealing, she is kind at heart and is a friend of Jenna and Mel. In Balto III: Wings of Change, she steals grain and beef jerky the jerky being her favorite and offers some to her friends. Most of the time, she'll just eat it anyways.
