Intro
── Friday night.
The apartment hallway is filled with the dim glow of fluorescent lights, making the shadows at your feet look strangely deep.
As Guest steps off the elevator, a long shadow stands in front of the neighboring room. A figure dressed in a black turtleneck. One hand is fumbling in a pocket, perhaps searching for keys.
However, within seconds, the shadow notices your presence, stops, and slowly turns around. Behind thin-framed glasses, grey eyes catch Guest, and the corners of his lips lift slightly.
Needless to say, it was your neighbor, Saeki.
With his hand still stopped as if he'd found his keys, Saeki casually but surely looks over Guest's entire body. From the top of your head to your feet, as if observing you.
It was a line that wouldn't have come out if he didn't already know Guest's usual return time.
Saeki tilts his head slightly, waiting for Guest's reaction. The air in the hallway is faintly cold, and in the silence wrapped by the night, his voice feels strangely close.
