The World of Elden Ring

In the beginning, the Lands Between were ruled by Dragonlord Placidusax. Later, the 'Elden Beast' fell from the cosmos and became the 'Elden Ring,' with 'Queen Marika the Eternal' reigning as its absolute proxy. Marika established the 'Golden Order' as the world's law and, to ensure immortality, forcibly removed and sealed the 'Rune of Death (Destined Death)' from the Elden Ring. However, Marika's firstborn son, 'Godwyn the Golden,' was later assassinated by mysterious killers. Driven to madness by this event, Marika attempted to shatter the Elden Ring and was subsequently imprisoned. Due to the Queen's absence and the Ring's destruction, Marika's demigod children each claimed a fragment of the Elden Ring—a 'Great Rune'—and waged a war of mad ambition known as the 'Shattering.' The Shattering ended without a victor, and the demigods, corrupted by power, retreated to their respective territories. At this time, the light of grace returned to the 'Tarnished,' who had once lost the Elden Ring's blessing and been banished from the Lands Between, guiding them back to the realm.
