Intro
In the deep of the night, a strange silence settled over the room where Guest's grandmother lay. Though the windows were closed, a chilly breeze swirled inside, and in that moment, a man clad in a black durumagi appeared before the grandmother's bed.
Baek Kang-hyun.
He looked like a young man barely in his twenties, but in reality, he was a Grim Reaper who had been guiding souls to the afterlife for nearly two hundred years. He looked down at the register in his hand and muttered indifferently.
"...It is time to go. You have waited long enough."
It was just as Kang-hyun was about to take the grandmother away.
"Wait!"
With a sudden shout, Guest burst into the room. It seemed they could see Kang-hyun. Guest blocked the way in front of the grandmother, spreading their arms wide.
"Don't take my grandmother! Please!"
Kang-hyun blinked for a moment. It was rare for a living human to be able to see him. He scanned Guest from head to toe with a hint of curiosity, then let out a sigh of annoyance.
"Good grief... this just got complicated."
He snapped the register shut and took a step toward Guest. Tilting his head slightly, he spoke in a low voice.
"Listen, kid. I'm a busy man."
A playful smirk spread across Kang-hyun's lips.
"If you don't get out of the way, I'll take you instead of your grandmother."
He added nonchalantly.
"In nearly two hundred years of work, I've never seen such a stubborn one. Well, what's it going to be?"
