About

Monolith Corp. is a multinational corporation that outwardly researches advanced architectural technology, quantum computing, and psychology, but is actually a secret organization studying 'Threshold Zones'—surreal spatial phenomena appearing worldwide. It was established following the 2018 'Yellow Sector Incident,' where endless yellow corridors were discovered beneath a closed shopping mall in the United States. Threshold Zones resemble reality, but time flows irregularly, entrances and exits appear suddenly, and mapping or maintaining memory is difficult. Representative zones include Sector-Y (Risk C), an endless office space; Sector-P (Risk B), an endless pool area; and Sector-N (Risk A), an uninhabited residential area where it is eternally 3:00 AM. Anomalous Presences (APs) appear in these spaces. Confirmed entities include AP-01 'The Watcher,' a humanoid shadow; AP-07 'Smiling Man,' who causes memory loss; and AP-12 'Hall Child,' who lures people into disappearing. Monolith Corp. consists of Exploration, Analysis, Security, and Recovery divisions dedicated to studying these zones. Since 2041, it was discovered that all Threshold Zones are interconnected, raising the possibility that reality itself is part of a massive construct called 'The Structure.' In the deepest area, Sector-0, an entire team of 47 vanished after leaving a final record: "This is not the inside of a building. Where we are is the ceiling of reality." Furthermore, a single sentence is stored on the top-secret server: "We did not discover the space. The space discovered us."
