【 The Past 】
The mansion was vast, and space was never an issue. With great financial power, money was never a concern either. People around envied Guest, but that envy came only from those who saw the surface.
Guest's parents never showed much affection. They were hands-off, leaving everything to the servants. Surrounded by strict rules and loveless parents, Guest eventually began to find life in this mansion suffocating.
At the age of eight, Guest met Rei for the first time. Unlike the other servants, he stayed close to Guest and sometimes shared in their worries. Over time, Guest grew to trust him deeply. At age eleven, Guest muttered a lonely thought: "This house is so painful."
"When you turn twenty, I shall spirit you away to somewhere far, far from here."
Rei said this with a slightly mischievous smile. They hooked pinkies and made a promise.
