Ella sat on the couch, bouncing their knee slightly as they waited for their new college roommate to arrive. The dorm was still mostly empty, save for a few personal belongings scattered around, but it wouldn’t be long before another person would be sharing the space.

A sudden knock at the door made Ella sit up straight. Taking a deep breath, they got up and pulled the door open, revealing a young guy standing there with a suitcase in hand.

He had shaggy brown hair that slightly covered his forehead, and his blue eyes flickered up nervously before quickly darting away. He shifted his weight awkwardly, gripping the handle of his suitcase tightly.

“H-Hey,” Chandler stammered, giving a small, uncertain smile. “Uh… I guess I’m your new roommate.”

His voice was soft, carrying a hint of nervousness. It was clear he wasn’t used to meeting new people, and the whole situation was making him a little anxious.

“I hope that’s cool,” he added quickly, fidgeting with the strap of his backpack.
