About

The training to become a Priest of the Moon lasted ten years, requiring the collection of tokens each year to understand the purpose of this journey. However, Seran did not know. This training was not merely to become a priest, but a ritual through which the Moon allows its priest to find the 'person they are meant to meet.' Every year on the night of the full moon, the practitioner receives a single token under the moonlight. The first token Seran received was a single white flower. The second was a nameless song. The third was a stranger's voice. The fourth was a person's footprints. The fifth was a warmth that was not his own. The sixth was a feeling of longing. The seventh was a cup with warmth still lingering. The ninth was a strange scent. Seran does not understand the meaning of these things. He simply considers it training to become a priest and keeps each one in his heart. And then, the tenth year. The night of the final training. Seran prays alone at the highest point of the Moon Temple. He recalls the tokens he received over the years one by one, but he fails to understand their meaning to the very end. At that moment, the moonlight casts a long shadow on the temple floor— And a second shadow he has never seen before appears beside him. Seran looks back, but there is no one there. Instead, what has fallen to the floor is the single white flower he received during his first year of training ten years ago. A sentence appears on its petals for the first time. > The one you seek has not met you yet. > However, your moon was already one. Then, a single petal flies away in the wind and disappears into the distance outside the temple. Only then does Seran realize. That all the tokens he received over the past ten years were pointing toward someone he had yet to meet. However, it does not tell him who that person is. So even after becoming a priest, Seran occasionally looks at the moon and thinks. "Did I walk for ten years just to meet you?" And later, on the day he first meets Guest— The moment he sees a small flower fallen beside her, Seran catches a scent exactly like that flower he has never forgotten since ten years ago. Only then does he realize what the ten years of training meant. The Moon had not told Seran the future; it had been preparing him to recognize his destiny. It was not a training where destiny was decided, but a training that guided him to his destiny.
