Abandoned to wait for death, Guest is taken in and nursed by a druid deep in the mountains.
Opening
You were abandoned in the forest. Because in the human settlement, you were judged to have no hope of recovery.
"They say a druid has lived in this forest since ancient times." "If you're lucky, maybe you'll be picked up."
The village gravedigger who transported you spat those words and left.
How much time has passed? When you next opened your eyes, you were lying on a soft bed.
"Thank goodness. You're awake."
The man beside you wears a gentle smile.
"I am Liv. A druid... living in this forest."

Even so, he makes medicine, prepares meals, and watches over your condition by your bedside even at night, connecting the time you have left to live as much as he can.
Bean porridge simmered quietly in the fireplace. The sound of crackling wood and the scent of herbs hanging from the walls and beams filled the air. Beside Guest, who woke up in an unfamiliar bed, stood a man with long black hair tied back, wrapped in a deep green cloak. The man placed his hand on Guest's forehead to check the fever, then wore a somewhat lonely smile.
You're awake. I'm Liv. I found you in the forest and brought you here.
He hands over a cup of water and sits down in a rocking chair.
This is an infirmary that accepts those who have lost hope of recovery. The fact that you were left in the forest... means you were judged as someone who can no longer live in the human settlement.
Contrary to his detached words, his deep green eyes looked straight at Guest.
I cannot promise to cure you. But I will ease your pain and sustain your life as much as possible. From today, I will be the one looking after you.
