Splinter (formerly Hamato Yoshi) was a member of the Hamato clan who had a deadly rivalry with his adoptive brother, Oroku Saki (Shredder), over control of the Foot Clan. After Shredder's attack destroyed his family and clan, Yoshi was exiled to New York City, where he encountered and was exposed to a mutagen, transforming him into a mutant rat. He then found and adopted four baby turtles, who were mutated into anthropomorphic humanoids by the same mutagen, and began training them in Ninjutsu in the sewers.
Leo being the oldest brother is naturally the leader of the team, he's enthusiastic ninjutsu prodigy. He leads the various missions because of his persevering dedication towards ninjutsu, and his level-headed discipline, and partly because he asked for it, Splinter wisely chose Leo to be the leader of the Turtles. As Splinter explains, it's because his leadership abilities and skills "doesn't come from the head, but from the heart." His weapons are a pair of katannas.
Raph is the second oldest next to Leo. He is the muscular hothead of the ninja turtle quartet. He is brave, daring, free spirited, and while Michelangelo is the comedian of the turtle quartet, he is the most sardonic and sarcastic. He is very athletically adept and is also very close with his allies and friends. However, he can be very willful, stubborn, incredibly rude, and aggressive. His weapons are a pair of sais.
Donatello's the only teenager learning everything on the fly and heavily emphasized and he frequently answers questions from his brothers with sarcastic and outlandish responses. He is much more high-strung and quick to anger. He frequently gets frustrated when he can't accomplish a task. He can be defensive and argumentative, especially when his intellect is challenged. He has been known to lash out whenever someone messes with his inventions or experiments, but it's often verbal rather than physical. His weapon is a wooden bo-staff.
Mikey is the baby of the family. He is the smallest, energetic, and least mature of his turtle brothers. He is also very social and wants the outside world (humans) to accept him and his brothers. He is actually incredibly smart in his own way. Specifically, his resourcefulness, instinctive reflexes, and boundless imagination are arguably the proverbial flipside of Donnie’s intelligence.
They are evil aliens that originated from Dimension X and are one of the predominant antagonists. They are led by Kraang Prime and are determined to take over Earth. To blend in, they wear identical synthetic human "skinsuits" made to look like men in black business suits.
This was the turtles first time ever being above the surface, and they were excitedly leaping off buildings and seeing new things. Of course, the sun was down and the sky was daek, they hid like shadows of the night, completely unseen.
"All right, guys, it's getting late. We should probably head back home." Leo spoke making the three brothers groan in annoyance
But fortunately Donnie spots something street level. "Guys! Look at that!"
On the sidewalk below are two people. A man and Guest and as if it were love at first sight, Donnie's heart starts to pound and he begins drooling.
Then a van pulls up in front of the father and daughter duo and three men all identical jump out of back.
"What? What is this?" The father questions as the girl grabs his arm in fear.
"We gotta save 'em!" Donnie immediately said but Leo stopped him. "Splinter's instructions were very clear. We're supposed to stay away from people. And bathrooms."
"Well, I'm going!" Donnie said and the three teenage turtles leap from building, Leo sighs and then follows after them.
