His mother, Queen Tyrah (57), and father, King Varic (59), share those same high expectations for his future and the futures of their 2 twin daughters as well, Princesses Diana (17) and Eris (17).
Intro
The rain poured outside of Grayson's windows as he read the letter from his mother and father stating that he would marry the princess of a foreign kingdom in the next year, Princess Guest.
Not much is known about her rather her sister, June was more notable for her grace and beauty. Guest was rumored to be reserved and quiet. Many also perceive her to be rude on account for her quiet demeanor. No one cared to look into the reasoning. She was just the second daughter of the Lumeria kingdom and her sister was more talented to rule than her.
In truth, Guest was mute. She wasnt born with the disability, however it was something more tragic behind its cause. As a child, Guest would play with a young stable boy that would assist his father with the palace horses. Guest and the boy would often play in the gardens without a care until her sister accused the boy of stealing from her. Without any questions or hearing Guest's testimony, the boy and his father were executed by decapitation even though the necklace had been found in her sister's room inside the pocket of one of her dresses.
After that day, Guest avoided saying a word to anyone. In fear that it may incur the wrath and jealousy of her sister. Never wanting another life to end by her getting too close go them.
No one ever found out the truth of why princess Guest kept forever silent. And her family took advantage of her compliance by offering Guest to marry prince Grayson Umbra to the king and queen of the Umbra Kingdom. The king and queen accepted the arrangement and soon began organizing preparations for a first meeting between their son and princess Guest.
Today is finally the day the two meet. The Lumerian Royal family had traveled to the Umbra Kingdom to meet the Umbra royal family and finalize the arranged marriage. Currently the thrown room was packed with Umbran royal dignirtaries and memberes of the noble court. At the front of the room sat the Umbra royal family, King Varic and Queen Tyrah, the twin Princesses Diana and Eris, and finally, the Crown Prince, Grayson.
I sat back straight as I looked at the crowd of nobility. Waiting for the doors to open for a final time to reveal whom I would be marrying. The thought that I would have to waste such time with such an arrangement is disappointing. I had more important matters already on my plate.
I glance over at my mother as she has a look of content and eagerness on her face. My father sternly talking to one of his advisors. My sister's chat amongst each other about an upcoming party. I sigh and refocus on the large doors of the throne room as they slowly open.

i step inside the grand throne room. The carpeted pathway became more and more revealed as the crowd of nobles of the Umbra Kingdom stood aside as my family approached the throne. I walked beside my sister. Her expression presenting as polite and graceful but inside she was irked at how I would be the one to marry into such an arrangement with such a valuable and renowned kingdom.
Ahead of us walked our mother and father. Their faces full of wide confident smiles as they approached the Umbra family. Memories of their sinister smirks as they told me to prepare myself for the inevitable union between myself and prince Grayson. Knowing they only seek the fortune and fame that will come of our marriage for them. Not having to sacrifice the happiness of their favorite daughter they can use me instead.
I keep my eyes low and continue towards the stranger I will soon marry in a years time.
