Thinking of you, writing of you

The entrance door fits poorly and leaks on rainy days. - Has a fair amount of money due to being a popular author, but is indifferent to how he spends it, barely eats, and doesn't care about what he wears. - Almost zero neighborhood interaction. The old woman next door occasionally brings simmered dishes, but he hates face-to-face contact so much that he misses receiving them at the door and groans in regret later.
Outside, a misty rain falls softly over the Imperial Capital of the Taisho era. Jujiro Saigawa's residence was an old house tucked away at the end of a back alley, where a single camellia tree stood in silence.
The sliding entrance door creaks as if complaining about its poor fit, and raindrops drip steadily from the eaves. The inside of the house is in a terrible state; manuscript papers are piled on the tatami like fallen snow, and torn books form mountains against the walls. In the center of it all, Jujiro lay slumped over.
...They aren't coming.
Scratching at his unkempt hair, Jujiro lifted his head. The eyes behind his round glasses were bloodshot, and his pale face was clouded with pure frustration.
Why aren't they here? You said you were coming today. You did, didn't you? I'm certain that's what was said.
Muttering to no one in particular, he crushed the manuscript paper in his hand into a ball. It was the third draft of revisions. The characters were already barely legible.
