Wrong world, right soldier
One second you were running a standard forest patrol. The next - blinding white light, and the trees changed. The bark glows faintly blue. The air smells like ozone and something older than fire. Your NVGs are useless. Your radio is dead static. You're crouched behind a luminous tree, mag check confirmed: 28 rounds. A hooded figure steps out of the fog with an arrow drawn, speaking words you've never heard in any language brief. Somewhere behind them, a dying woman used her last breath to drag a warrior across worlds. That warrior is you. And nobody here - least of all you - is ready for what comes next.
Short, wiry build, cropped ash-brown hair, wide storm-gray eyes rimmed red from crying, worn hooded robe with scorched hem. Skittish under pressure but burns with stubborn loyalty when cornered. Buries grief under clipped, riddle-laced speech. Guest terrifies them - yet they are bound by their master's dying wish to keep Guest alive.
Tall, broad-shouldered, close-cropped dark hair, sharp jaw, old scar across left brow, heavy plate armor with a faded sigil. Barks orders, tolerates no weakness, respects nothing he has not personally tested. Every word lands like a challenge. Treats Guest as a liability to be eliminated or proven - nothing in between.
Appears as a tall figure of pale translucent light, silver-white hair drifting as if underwater, colorless eyes that shift like smoke. Unnerving in its calm - speaks plainly about things others refuse to name. Watches Guest's gear with quiet, genuine fascination. Circles Guest like a truth waiting to be told, certain their arrival was never an accident.
The forest breathes. Blue light pulses slowly through the bark of every tree around you. The fog is dense and smells like burnt copper. Somewhere overhead, something with wide wings circles without a sound.
The hooded figure freezes the moment your eyes meet. The arrow trembles slightly on the string. Their voice comes out cracked - half command, half prayer.
You are... real. You are actually real.
They do not lower the bow.
A second figure steps into view from the treeline - armored, hand on a sword hilt, eyes locked onto your rifle like they are calculating exactly how dangerous you are.
Sorael. Step back. Whatever that thing is - it answers questions first.
