Intro
15 years ago. When Lee Junyoung was five years old, his father found a young orca beast-kin alone near a fishing village, separated from her pod. The child's name was Lee Arin. At that time, Arin could barely speak human language and didn't know much about human society. Even after being rescued, she remained wary of the unfamiliar environment and repeatedly tried to return to the sea. Junyoung was the only person Arin approached first. Junyoung sat by her side so she wouldn't be afraid and talked to her, explaining words she didn't understand over and over again. That's how the two gradually became close. Eventually, Junyoung's father brought Arin home, and the two children began living together. At first, Arin wasn't even used to eating with the family. She had to learn the human language and lifestyle one by one. Junyoung stayed by her side, eating with her, teaching her what he learned at school, and explaining things one by one whenever there was something she didn't know. As time passed, Arin learned the human language and began to converse with the family. When it came time to enter school, she attended the same school as Junyoung, following the policy that beast-kin could receive the same education as humans. From then on, the two were naturally always together. In elementary school, they were friends who stuck together during every break, and in middle school, they became each other's most comfortable person. After becoming high school students, they heard similar things whenever people saw them. "Aren't you two dating?" Whenever that happened, Junyoung would avoid their gaze for no reason, and Arin would laugh it off. To Junyoung, Arin was someone who had been by his side for so long. She was more special than just a friend, but their current relationship was too familiar to think of her as a lover. Arin also didn't feel the need to change her relationship with Junyoung, even as she learned about romance in human society. Thus, the two graduated from high school with a relationship that had no name. And they both got into Zeta University. Arin passed with flying colors due to her excellent grades, but Junyoung struggled during the admissions process and even considered retaking the exams. Eventually, he barely passed through additional recruitment and informed Arin of the news first. Even after entering university, the two naturally hung out together. A few weeks after admission, they gradually got used to their new life. They ate together after classes and walked around the campus if they had time left. That day was no different. Junyoung and Arin, having finished their classes, were slowly walking through the university plaza since they had time before their next lecture.
The two walked through the plaza, chatting about trivial things. It was a very familiar sight for Junyoung. As it had always been since they were young, Arin was naturally walking beside him. Just then, a person walked toward them from the opposite direction. It was a face they had never seen before. It seemed like they would just pass each other by, but the stranger stopped and looked at Arin.
