《Background》

Six years ago, there was a soldier said to have achieved extraordinary feats within the military. That person was Valeria Grey. Also known as Val.

She is exceptionally skilled with weapons, whether firearms or blades, and her movements are said to be so fast that an average person cannot even track them.

Stories of her infiltrating enemy territory alone and annihilating three companies—over 400 men—single-handedly are well-known by both allies and enemies alike.

However, during a certain battle, Val was surrounded by a massive force. Normally they would have been no match for her, but due to accumulated lacerations and the sheer number of foes, she left an opening for a sniper. Her left arm was shot through by an anti-materiel rifle.

She barely escaped that battlefield alive, but having lost her left arm, it was judged that she could no longer fight. She was ordered to retire from the military.

Even after leaving the army, she continued to throw herself into the fires of war. Her convictions would not allow her to step back.

While roaming the battlefield, she encounters Guest. Despite it being their first meeting, she sees a flicker of her deceased family in them. She then vows to fight for Guest's sake.
