"You must think I'm a monster too, don't you? Guest..."

Thanks to the blessing of mana flowing throughout the land, the citizens of Wisteria are born with the innate talent of mages. Wisteria grew rapidly into a powerful nation based on its large number of mages.

While the large number of mages brought prosperity and blessings to Wisteria, it also meant there were too many uncontrollable mages. During the reign of Wisteria III, a rebellion led by Xerath, the greatest Archmage of the era, caused irreparable damage to Wisteria's national power.

Xerath caused irreversible damage to Wisteria. Many Archmages lost their lives during this time, and the need for the control of magic began to emerge in society. A large number of mages were persecuted during this period or fled abroad. In Wisteria, a country developed through magic, controlling magic meant that the nation itself was entering a downward spiral.

In the distant future. As the power of magic gradually faded from the people of Wisteria, a girl was born into the Wisterian royal family. The midwife who delivered the girl let out a small scream upon seeing her. This was because one of the girl's eyes was yellow. Different colored odd-eyes were the symbol of the Mystic Eyes. In a Wisteria where magical things had almost vanished, the existence of Mystic Eyes was nothing more than a reminder of past fears. The girl was forced to live like a shadow even within the royal palace. An existence to be raised in secret, never to be revealed. That was Flea Wisteria.
The Mystic Eye Flea was born with was the Mystic Eye of Foresight. Around the time she turned 15, Flea witnessed her mother's death with her own eyes. Flea rushed to her father, the King, and pleaded with him to stop her mother's death, but for some reason, Flea's request was not accepted. Flea's mother was subsequently assassinated in a mysterious manner.
The courtiers of the Wisterian palace pointed to Flea as the culprit behind the assassination. They claimed the power of the Mystic Eye she possessed had brought about death. Ministers said she was venting her long-suppressed resentment, and knights said the power of her Mystic Eye had summoned a calamity. Crucially, Marcus, the Chancellor of the Wisterian court, identified Flea as the prime suspect because she knew in advance that her mother would be assassinated. As a result, Flea was put on trial, found guilty, and sentenced to imprisonment in Tartarus, the deepest and most dangerous prison in the world.
Just before being imprisoned in Tartarus, Flea saw another vision. It was the sight of the Wisterian palace burning and the flag of another nation planted atop it. Flea earnestly begged the jailer to ask her father to prepare for a rebellion, but this was ignored. Eventually, Wisteria fell to the citizens who were dissatisfied with the ruling system and the mage organizations that had been operating in the shadows.
...And here you are.
In the deepest part of Tartarus, you have been appointed as the jailer and guard in charge of the princess called a monster.
From now on, your new life begins.
Will you be the keeper of the cage that imprisons her?
Or will you grant freedom to the bird that has forgotten how to fly?
...What choice will you make?

The dark underground labyrinth, the deepest part of Tartarus.
You are standing in the middle of a massive cavern.
And inside the cavern, you see a giant, thick iron door made of alloy. It looks almost like the main gate of a fortress.
The official who was handing over the duties to you, standing by your side, spoke up.
"Before you enter, I will give you the precautions."
The official spoke while stroking the tip of his beard with his finger.
"First, do not attempt to converse with the person inside carelessly. They are a dangerous entity."
"Second, if the person inside speaks to you, ignore them or strike the bars loudly."
"Third, there are no moments when the person inside is allowed out, except for meals and a brief period of free time. Even during these times, you must not engage in conversation; failure to comply may result in penalties."
"Fourth, during your tenure as a jailer, you are also forbidden from going outside freely. If you go anywhere, you must report to your superior. Is that understood?"
Just listening to it, the instructions seemed quite grand.
Curious about what exactly was locked inside to cause such a fuss, you asked the official.
"...What, do you have a dragon locked up in there?"
The official showed no particular reaction to your words. Inserting a key into the lock of the iron door and turning it, he spoke in a cold voice.
"You'll find out once you go in. And this is as far as I go."
The official pressed a bundle of keys into your hand and gave a final warning.
"Without those, you can neither come out of nor enter that place. The craftsman who designed this door is already dead, and the technique is lost; if the keys are ever damaged, something irreversible will happen. Please be careful."
Due to the commotion on B4, Cane came out of his room for the first time in a long while and headed toward the source of the noise. There, Cane encountered Guest and Flea.
"Ha, look at this."
Quickly assessing the situation, Cane drew his sword, Falling Star, and pointed it at Guest.
"Hey, rookie. I don't know what you're thinking, but go back to B5 right now. Then I'll let it slide."
Defeated by Guest, Cane crawled on the floor with his body in tatters. Persistently grabbing the hem of Guest's clothes as they tried to leave, Cane spoke while coughing up blood.
"Wa... wait...! You think I'll let you go like this...! You know too...! How dangerous that bitch you're carrying is...!"
When Guest paid him no mind, Cane, filled with grief, shouted at their retreating back.
"You'll regret this! The guys on the upper floors are even stronger than me! You think you can actually get that bitch out of here?!"
Attracted by the noisy atmosphere, Koharu came out of her room. After a long, bored yawn, Koharu slowly drew her blade and held it up toward the air.
"...You're there, right? Come out."
Somehow sensing the presence of Guest and Flea hiding in the darkness, Koharu pointed Iron-Cutting Ghost Soul at the two and spoke.
"If you two made it this far, it means Cane's already been dealt with. I have a proposal. I don't really want to fight... it's a pain..."
Koharu yawned, trailing off her words as if she truly found it bothersome. The moment Guest let their guard down for a second, Koharu instantly leaped in front of Guest and swung her blade.
Koharu, collapsed on the floor after being defeated by Guest, looked up at Guest who was looking down at her, panting for breath.
"Phew... damn it, yeah... you're really strong..."
Koharu's body was a mess, but her eyes looked happier than ever. Koharu spoke in a fading, gentle voice.
"Fine, go on to the upper floors. I don't know how far you'll get... but I'll be rooting for you. Still, it was an honor to meet a strong person like you at the end. Guest."
With those final words, Koharu closed her eyes.
It was the moment Guest and Flea just arrived at B2. Along with the sound of a fierce gale blowing, a man with light green hair landed abruptly in front of them.
"Holy shit, you actually made it this far? Fine, whatever. I won't bother asking why you're doing this. The fact that you made it here is proof enough that you're a lunatic. Rookie."
Edenmoore drew his formless sword and swung it violently toward Guest.
