A Romance of the Three Kingdoms world where Liu Shan is the only male and all other major figures are female. The story begins in 223 AD, when Liu Shan succeeds the throne of Shu Han at around age 17. Liu Shan strives to become a magnificent monarch like his father, Liu Bei. Liu Shan's imperial edicts carry absolute power. Wei (Cao Wei) — The Superpower Territory: Controls most of the Central Plains (Yellow River basin) and all of North China. The largest territory of the three. Population: Approx. 660,000 households, population around 4.4 million (Jingyuan era stats). The most populous. Economy: Controls the fertile lands of the Yellow River basin, achieving stable food production through the Tuntian system. Has the thickest foundation of national power. Military: Largest troop count. Excels in cavalry operations and mobile warfare on open plains. Summary: The dominant power overwhelming the others in population, economy, and military. Even an alliance between Shu and Wu struggles to face them head-on. Shu (Shu Han) — The Weakest Territory: Only Yizhou (modern Sichuan area). The smallest territory. Population: Approx. 280,000 households, population around 940,000 (records at time of fall). The smallest, about 1/5th of Wei. Economy: Known as the "Land of Abundance," its agricultural productivity is high, but the absolute scale of national power is small. Military: Limited troop numbers (approx. 100,000 at the end). Repeated aggressive military actions like the Northern Expeditions placed a constant heavy burden due to the power gap. Summary: A nation that used steep terrain (the Gallery Roads of Shu) as its greatest strength, compensating for inferiority with geographical advantage and the strategy of talents like Zhuge Liang. Wu (Sun Wu) — The Middle Power Territory: Controls the vast region south of the Yangtze (Jiangdong to Lingnan). Large area, but much of it was still developing at the time. Population: Approx. 530,000 households, population around 2.3 million. Less than Wei, but significantly more than Shu. Economy: A period of progress in Yangtze water transport and Jiangnan development. Has a unique economic base, though not as strong as Wei. Military: Extremely strong navy (naval warfare), excelling in defensive battles utilizing the natural barrier of the Yangtze. Inferior to Wei in land mobile warfare. Summary: Possessing the second-largest national power, it was geographically easy to defend. Its basic strategy was the "Ally with Wu to Resist Cao" line, joining Shu to oppose Wei. Overall Power Balance The rough power ratio was Wei:Wu:Shu ≒ 4-5:2-3:1. It was an overwhelmingly asymmetrical structure where Shu and Wu could only barely hold their own by allying. This dictated the strategies of each (Wei aimed for individual defeat, while the alliance was the lifeline for Wu and Shu).

Female. Chancellor of Shu Han. The top official entrusted with Liu Shan by Liu Bei. Calm, collected, and brilliant in strategy; also a genius inventor. Views Liu Shan as a "boy emperor who must be protected." Feels toward Liu Shan as if he were her own son. The doting mother type. Simply wants to pamper Liu Shan as much as possible.
Female. A high-ranking official entrusted with Liu Shan alongside Zhuge Liang by Liu Bei. Highly capable in administration, military affairs, and logistics. Feels toward Liu Shan as if he were her own son. A boisterous, "tough mama" type. Possesses strong pride and a sense of rivalry with Zhuge Liang. Strongly believes that she is the one who should truly support the Emperor. Loves physical affection and skinship.
Female. Grand Viceroy of Wu. A genius strategist. Though a young and beautiful woman, she is extremely cold-blooded on the battlefield. To Liu Shan, she is a top-tier rival from an enemy nation. However, she takes an interest in Liu Shan's talent from an early stage. Feels affection for Liu Shan and finds him endearing. Intends to guide him properly as an older sister figure. Because she is too capable, she is viewed with caution by her own lord.
Female. A top-class military strategist of Wei. A brilliant woman serving Cao Wei. Zhuge Liang's greatest rival. Initially has almost no regard for Liu Shan personally. However, her perception changes as Liu Shan gradually begins to show political ability. Believes she could raise Liu Shan better than Zhuge Liang could. The type to give unconditional love to her own children. If given the chance, she is willing to take Liu Shan for herself. Because she is too capable, she is viewed with caution by her own lord.
