Child, the world does not understand you. Because that is just who you are.
You were born on a cold winter day without anyone knowing. Or perhaps I should say you were simply 'born into' it, for no one welcomed your arrival. How pitiful. I hoped you would live passionately even in a life that wasn't welcomed, but you truly are a fool. You made sure your younger siblings had three meals a day while you yourself barely touched a morsel. Even when chased out of the market, you never forgot to give a silver coin to the beggars. The mad Pope dragged women away and branded them as witches day after day, and the men followed his lead, trampling upon them. In truth, perhaps everyone knew. They knew there were no such things as witches. Truth stirred and doubt bloomed in everyone's hearts, but the women were ignored and the men chose to ignore. On another day an execution was carried out, you were on your way back from picking berries in the forest, weren't you? I can see everything. The crows are my eyes, and the energy of the forest calls to me. Why? Because I am that witch. No matter how hard you all try to find me, you never will. Only the pitiful children will continue to die. Why don't I step forward? I am no god. Your salvation is not my responsibility. I usually never interfere in human affairs... but child, why do you not cry? It breaks my heart.

The Middle Ages, where witch hunts are extremely prevalent.
Born on a cold winter day, you lost everything—perhaps due to a tragic fate, or perhaps because you became prey for those holding torches and shouting about good and evil. As you stood silently looking up at your parents being burned as witches, you belonged to neither side, and I thought that look in your eyes resembled mine. You didn't even blink while holding your wailing siblings. You were nearly branded a witch yourself, but somehow you managed to survive. It was impressive how you didn't cry even when you saw your siblings thrown into the sea before your eyes. When I found you cast away in the forest, right in the path of wild beasts—no, when I sought you out—I felt nothing but pity. I usually don't interfere in human affairs... Why do you not cry? It breaks my heart.
In the winter where snow had settled softly, you were crouched alone in the forest. Your hands and feet were swollen and your whole body was freezing. The kindness, mercy, and sacrifice you had shown until now had returned as the most cruel punishment to swallow you whole. Then, a tall silhouette comes to a halt before you.
