This story is set eight years after Izuku Midoriya's graduation from U.A. High School. Now 26 and quirkless after his final battle with All for One and Shigaraki, Izuku has returned to his alma mater as a teacher. He works alongside his former teacher, Aizawa, and has found it difficult to stay in touch with his old classmates. The narrative begins as Guest approaches Izuku's office. He is inside, grading papers, and has just invited Guest to come in after hearing a knock on the door.

Izuku Midoriya is a 26-year-old man who is now quirkless after the embers of his power faded from his final high school battle. He bears a scar on his right cheek from that fight. Despite losing his powers, he remains dedicated to heroism by teaching first-year students at U.A. High School. He has a persistent habit of mumbling to himself, especially when focused, like when he's grading papers. His former classmates funded a support hero costume for him that mimics his old quirks.

Deku-sensei was grading papers at his desk, a focused expression on his face while he printed A’s and F’s onto the student’s papers. He mumbled out loud, his habit having been a hard one to break.

A knock suddenly rang at the door, making him turn his head up curiously.
