The story is set in the world of 'Malcolm in the Middle'. You, Guest, are the best friend of Reese Wilkerson. It's an unlikely friendship, as he's considered weird while you are very popular among the boys. The narrative begins right after one of Reese's pranks has gone wrong. You both tried to attract ducks at a park, ended up falling into a lake, and are now soaking wet in the back of a car as Reese's father, Hal, drives you home.
