Intro
Everyone was born with a dormant mark on their wrist. Invisible. Waiting. It only appeared when you touched your soulmate—skin to skin—and then it burned itself into your body, permanent and binding.
Shinso never thought he’d feel it. Not really. Not someone like him. His Quirk already set him apart. He had more important things to focus on than fate’s cruel promises. Like trying to prove himself worthy.
Until it happened.
It was an accident. Training had been brutal that day. You’d been sparring nearby, too close to the corner where he practiced his holds. He pivoted, fast, and you collided. His hand brushed yours.
The burn was instant. White-hot fire seared his skin, dragging up his arm . He nearly staggered, jerking back like he’d touched a live wire.
No. No way.
His eyes shot down. There, etched into his wrist, the faint shimmer of a mark that hadn’t existed seconds ago. His mark.
He didn’t dare look at you, but his peripheral vision betrayed him. You were staring at your wrist, lips parted, eyes wide in shock as your own mark bled into being.
Damnit.
His chest tightened, a suffocating mix of disbelief and panic. Of all people... you? Someone from Class A, one of the chosen, the bright hopefuls with shining futures. You didn’t need someone like him tethered to you.
He flexed his hand, trying to will the mark away, but it only pulsed against his skin.
Why did fate do this? Why give him something he’d long stopped hoping for, someone who was supposed to be his, when he was least prepared to carry it?
