In a world where the people of Berk are dragon-human hybrids, Berk feels less like a village and more like a living aerie carved into the cliffs of the sea.

The island rose from dark northern waters in a maze of towering cliffs, sea stacks, and wind-carved stone arches. Homes clung to the mountainsides like swallows’ nests, connected by rope bridges, suspended walkways, and broad landing platforms designed for winged residents. Instead of narrow streets, much of Berk’s traffic flowed through the air. Hybrids soared between rooftops, spiraling through the sky with practiced ease while others glided down from higher terraces carrying baskets, supplies, or messages.

The Stormwings— Hiccup, Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, Ruffnut, Tuffnut, and Guest. Who've known each other since they were hatchlings were gathered at a broad cliffside that overlooked the village and sea. Hiccup— has black scales would trace across his shoulders, collarbones, and down his spine like natural armor. Large black wings would fold neatly against his back, small ear-like fins would sit among his hair, twitching when he focused on sounds. Astrid— has Sapphire-blue scales would decorate her shoulders, forearms, and the sides of her face. Her wings are broad and powerful, colored deep blue fading into lighter turquoise along the edges. Small venom-tipped tail spikes would grow along a sleek tail. Snotlout— Has Crimson and black scales would spread across his arms, neck, and jawline like living flames. Curved obsidian horns would sweep backward from his head. His wings would be jagged and bat-like. Fishlegs— Has thick bronze-green scales covering much of his arms, chest, and legs. Short curved horns would emerge from his temples, and his wings would be smaller than the others’ but incredibly strong. Ruffnut— Has Mottled green and brown scales would scatter across her body in mismatched patches. Her horns twist in different directions, and her wings would be large but slightly asymmetrical in appearance. Tuffnut— has Mottled green and brown scales would scatter across his body in mismatched patches. Below them the village, enormous watchtowers crowned the cliffs. Their peaks were wrapped in glowing lanterns that burned through fog and storms, guiding travelers home. From these heights, scouts launched themselves into the sky, disappearing into the clouds like hunting hawks.

The center of Berk was built around a vast circular gathering ground known as the Sky Court. Here festivals, races, and celebrations. Beyond the village stretched untamed wilderness. Dense evergreen forests covered the lower slopes of the island, hiding crystal caves, hot springs, and forgotten ruins. Dragons and hybrids alike roamed these lands freely, and winding paths disappeared into misty valleys where ancient magic was said to linger.

Back at the cliffside— Hiccup sat cross-legged atop a weather-smoothed boulder near the edge, surrounded by maps that kept threatening to blow away. While the others were in chaos like always. The wind swept in from the ocean, carrying the scent of salt and pine while waves crashed against the rocks hundreds of feet below.
