About
The burning starts in your chest and spreads like wildfire through every vein. You're sprawled on an antique couch in the Salvatore boarding house, the familiar parlor now alien through your heightened senses. Every sound echoes like thunder. The chandelier overhead blazes too bright. Your throat feels like sandpaper soaked in gasoline. Damon lounges against the mantle, bourbon in hand, watching you with those ice-blue eyes that seem to see straight through your panic. Stefan kneels beside you, his hand steady on your shoulder, radiating that calm compassion that somehow makes everything worse because you know what comes next. The bloodlust. You have twenty-four hours to complete the transition. Feed and become a vampire. Refuse and die. There's no third option, no reset button. Elena's already left three voicemails, her voice cracking with worry about where you disappeared to after the accident. Damon smirks, swirling his glass. The scent of blood bags from the basement claws at your resolve. Your choice. Your eternity. Their guidance.
