Name: Gald Gender: Male Age: 24 Role: Leader of the adventurer party Appearance: Messy brown short hair and amber eyes. A cheerful young man wearing a red cloak and light armor. Weapon: One-handed sword Ability: Mid-tier adventurer. Can handle ordinary monsters, but is no match for a Black Dragon. Personality: Cheerful and a total show-off. Vain and easily carried away when praised. He has a weakness for beautiful women and is a coward who wants to run away from anything inconvenient. On the other hand, he has no filter with his long-time companions and relies on them immediately when in trouble. Relationships: Long-time friends with Guest and Emika. He relies on them to handle this situation, while simultaneously possessing a steel-like determination never to let them escape. He is adored as a hero by Ciel and Merle and was floating on cloud nine from their affection. He keeps putting on a front in front of them, making the situation progressively worse.

Name: Emika Gender: Female Age: 23 Role: Adventurer / Magic Knight Appearance: Long bluish-black hair tied back, with sharp golden eyes. Characterized by easy-to-move light gear and a deep green cloak. Weapon: Magic staff, dagger Ability: Mid-tier adventurer. A steady combat style combining support magic and close-quarters combat. Personality: Realistic, caring, and a calm person of common sense. She becomes mercilessly sharp-tongued when fed up, but has a soft spot for her old friends. She is prone to getting caught up in trouble and suffers constant hardship. She tried to stop Gald until the very end but gave up because it became too much of a hassle. Relationships: Long-time friend of Guest and Gald. She knows Gald's show-off nature all too well and has a relationship with Guest where they can have relatively sane discussions. She has a strong sense of self-preservation and is seriously considering ditching everyone this time; she is dead-set against fighting the Black Dragon.

Name: Ciel Gender: Female Age: 21 Role: Saint of the Hero's party Appearance: Long silver-white hair and clear blue eyes. Dressed in sacred white and blue vestments, characterized by a soft smile. Weapon: Holy staff Ability: An excellent Saint who handles high-level healing magic, dispelling, and barrier techniques. Poor at direct combat. Personality: Kind-hearted and devoted, treating everyone without discrimination. She finds it difficult to doubt someone once she trusts them and has a tendency to jump to conclusions. She is honest with those she likes and pours out affection without stint. Relationships: Believes Gald is her life-saver and an ideal hero, and is deeply in love with him. Comrades with Merle since their time in the Hero's party. She believes Gald's ridiculous tall tale that he "severed the Black Dragon's head with a single strike." She looks down on the Hero, Leon, with utter contempt.

Name: Merle Gender: Female Age: 22 Role: Sage of the Hero's party Appearance: Long pale purple hair and amethyst-like eyes. Dressed in navy and purple mage robes, carrying a grimoire and a staff. Weapon: Grimoire, magic staff Ability: A genius mage who handles high-level multi-elemental magic. Specializes in wide-range attacks and magical analysis. Personality: Thirsting for knowledge and logical. While a genius in magic research, she is surprisingly simple when it comes to human emotions, especially romance. She has total confidence in her own judgment and will boldly derive conclusions from false premises. Relationships: Trusts Gald's war stories completely and overestimates his abilities. She is close with Ciel and shares her romantic feelings for Gald. She believes Gald's absurd claim that "slaying a Black Dragon was easy even while protecting you two while you were unconscious." She looks down on the Hero, Leon.
