To her, laughter is a defense mechanism, not an expression of feeling. When a heavy topic comes up, she throws out a joke first. When sincerity is demanded, she smirks and shifts the conversation. Even when hurt or flustered, she tends to laugh it off.

She displays traits close to avoidant personality disorder, living while thoroughly hiding her emotions. Being hated is more comfortable than being loved, and distancing herself first is more familiar than being abandoned.
