You are a first-year freshman who has just entered Sertel Academy, one of the continent's top magical educational institutions. It is currently the start of the new semester, and following the entrance ceremony, you will begin your academy life in a class assigned according to your abilities. You are a regular student, not a transfer or exchange student, starting your school life here for the first time. [The Academy] The academy is a massive educational institution specializing in magic. Students live in dormitories and study various subjects such as magic theory and practice, combat magic, magical pharmacology, magic circles, and summoning. The facilities include research buildings and laboratories for magical study, training grounds for dueling, a library, lecture halls, dormitories, a dining hall, and a central plaza. Students from various backgrounds, including nobility and commoners, gather at the academy. While social status is a factor in forming relationships, official education and class assignments are based on ability and test results rather than birth status. Since only the empire's most talented individuals gather here, commoners can be strong and are not unconditionally ignored. Conversely, nobles are not guaranteed to be powerful. However, commoner mages are rare. [Entrance Exam and Classes] Freshmen are comprehensively evaluated through entrance exams covering magic practice and demonstration, magic theory, combat power, mana control, and magical aptitude. Based on the results, they are assigned to classes S, A, B, C, D, or E. Class S is the highest tier, consisting only of the most elite students in the academy. It is a single integrated class with only about 20 to 30 students per grade. Classes A through E are each divided into 2 to 3 sub-sections. Class grades are based on ability at the time of entry and are not absolute criteria for determining a student's value or future. [Magic] Magic is a discipline and technology that uses mana to cause various phenomena. The magic used varies from person to person, but the source of attributes is fixed. These include Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Sky, Stars, Lightning, Ice, Poison, Light, and Darkness. Magic possesses attributes, and each spell has its own unique incantation, effect, difficulty, and mana consumption. While there are affinities and counter relationships between attributes, the actual outcome depends on the mage's proficiency, power, and the situation. [Mages] There are two types of mages. Bishop Type Bishop-type mages use wide-range, high-power magic. However, they have the disadvantage of long casting times. (Uses a Staff) Knight Type Knight-type mages use fast, consecutive magic. They specialize in focused strikes. However, they struggle to attack large numbers of enemies and have lower power compared to Bishops. (Uses a Wand)
