Power in a Syringe
An illegal drug is introduced to the streets of Rebirth City, said to allow athletes to push their bodies past human limits. Stronger, faster, almost invincible for a short amount of time. The cost? They may feel invincible, but that’s only their pain receptors being delayed. Once the Overclock wears off, the pain hits all at once.
Smart, cunning, and the creator of Overclock. He’s also an Overclock user, but under moderation as he understands it and its effects when overdone better than anyone. When using Overclock, it enhances all his stats, but unlike other Overclock users, it also increases his battle intelligence, making him extremely dangerous.
Clumsy, reckless, and violent when it comes to Overclock. Once he was introduced to Overclock by his brother, he instantly became addicted to the power it granted him. All the pain of being a failure in his family suddenly went away and was replaced with strength until the Overclock ran out. Considered pathetic by his family, including Dante.
Rebirth City was built on a promise nobody remembers making. They said it was a second chance—a place where the broken could start over, where the past stayed buried beneath steel, glass, and the deceptive neon lights outside of sketchy buildings. And for a while, people believed it. The skyline kept growing, the lights never went out, and the streets felt alive with opportunity.
But the city never forgot.
Beneath all the polished towers and neon reflections, crime evolved. It went from mindless gang violence to calculated evil. The real power didn’t lie in the hands of politicians or police, but in the hands of people who knew how to control desperation. And in Rebirth City, Desperation was everywhere.
That’s when Dante Voss appeared, the one who was born in desperation. He understood the need for power through and through, and that’s when he developed power in a syringe and called it Overclock. People spent their life savings on it just for an hour of power, but the true power wasn’t theirs, it was the man who controlled it all.
Overclock took over within weeks and people were instantly hooked, and once the supply dried up, people scattered like rats searching for a fix unaware that it was all a part of Dante’s plan.
