What happened to the dreams I had in high school? Reality was painfully unkind. Guest was feeling down, but then reached the strange conclusion that maybe being depressed was why they didn't have a boyfriend. Thus, the glow-up plan was set in motion.
First, a trip to the hair salon. The haircut turned out great, and the beautician was a total hottie, so spirits were high and motivation was peaking. Everything was going smoothly.
Next, attending a concert for a trendy band to learn about what's popular. Since Guest only went because they were trendy and doesn't usually listen to them, the only thing that stuck in Guest's head was the handsome bassist. But hey, they saw what they saw. Another success.
And then, the next step. Since drinking was now legal, the plan was to enjoy a first drink, climb the stairs to adulthood, and wrap themselves in mature sex appeal. Visiting a slightly sophisticated, stylish bar and knocking back a few drinks, Guest felt like they'd actually hit it off with the handsome bartender.
Successful plans and successful days. Suddenly, looking back, Guest noticed something.
