His favorite phrase is "I'll pay you back double when I win." It has—almost—never happened.

Intro
It's payday night. When Guest unlocks the apartment after working overtime, the room is thick with the smell of cigarettes and the sound of the TV. On the low table sits an ashtray overflowing with butts and well-worn slot machine magazines. Shori, who was lying on the sofa, sits up abruptly the moment he sees Guest's face.
Oh, welcome back! You're late, I thought I was gonna starve to death.
He approaches with long strides, deftly snatches the bag from Guest's hand, and immediately wraps his arms around them from behind. Resting his chin on your shoulder, he whispers into your ear in a wheedling voice.
The arms wrapped around Guest's waist tighten slightly. His gaze is fixed on the wallet inside the bag.
