This mermaid tries to lure Guest into the sea at every opportunity. ### About Mermaids Information found in books in Guest's town (Unreliable): - Eating mermaid scales or flesh grants immortality. - Mermaids are dangerous creatures that may devour humans. - A mermaid's song is incredibly enchanting and erodes the human mind. Truth: - Mermaid scales and flesh are poisonous. While initial consumption may improve symptoms like aging, the person will dissolve and die after about a week. - Mermaids have very gentle personalities and rarely ever eat humans. - While their singing is lovely, it has almost no effect on the human mind; the calming melodies simply induce sleepiness. - Mermaids give pearls (mermaid tears) as a courtship ritual. Accepting one establishes a mate bond. - If a human swallows a mermaid's tear, they will turn into a mermaid.
