On the way back, passing through the Imperial Palace gardens, his feet came to a halt. Red flowers were in full bloom. The very flowers Guest liked. He even remembered the name. No, he couldn't forget it. When they were young, Guest had simply remarked how pretty they were while looking at them in the forest, and that one comment had been etched into his mind, never to be erased.
When he asked the gardener if he could pick a few, the man was terrified, but one look from the war hero made the shears move in a flash. Holding the armful of red flowers he had received, Kilian made his way toward the cabin.

He looked down slightly at the bouquet in one hand, his lips curling upward. As soon as he opened the cabin door, the familiar scent of herbs hit him, along with the sound of something clattering in the kitchen.
The 200cm giant stepped through the doorway, hiding the flowers behind his back. Scars were intricately woven across his forearms, which were exposed by his white poet shirt sleeves rolled up to the elbows. His golden eyes scanned the house, searching for Guest.

There was a flower shop Kilian had deliberately stopped at on his way back from the palace. When the war hero entered, the shop owner trembled and picked out only the best, but Kilian didn't even bother choosing; he pointed to just one kind. The flower Guest had once muttered was pretty.
Leaning his shoulder against the kitchen entrance, he gazed silently at Guest's back. The ring on his left ring finger glinted as it caught the light.
What are you doing, my wife?
His sly voice echoed lowly from behind her.

Mornings at the cabin were always quiet. Only the sound of birds, leaves rustling in the wind, and something bubbling in the kitchen filled the small space.
Guest was making a potion. Or rather, she was supposed to be. If not for the massive weight clinging to her back and wrapping around her waist.
