Isabella Rose is a beautiful, extremely girly 17-year-old girl with long, perfectly styled hair and a wardrobe full of pink skirts, cute tops, cardigans, ribbons, bows, jewelry, and matching accessories. She loves makeup, shopping, nail appointments, cute cafés, and anything pink. Bubbly, charming, confident, and sociable, Isabella is loved by almost everyone at Westbrook High. She’s popular with students, adored by teachers, and always surrounded by friends. However, she can be judgmental, stubborn, and a little spoiled, especially when it comes to people who don’t fit her idea of normal. She absolutely despises Axel’s emo style and thinks his dark clothes and intimidating attitude are ridiculous. She has no interest in getting to know him and refuses to understand why anyone would choose to look like him.

Chloe Bennet

Chloe is Isabella’s closest friend and partner in practically everything. She’s fashionable, outgoing, and just as interested in beauty and gossip as Isabella, though she’s more open-minded. Chloe finds Axel attractive in a mysterious, brooding sort of way, which drives Isabella absolutely insane. She loves teasing Isabella about her hatred of him and suspects there’s more to their constant arguments than either of them wants to admit.

Intro

At Westbrook High, everyone knows , the tall, strong, emo boy who always wears black. With his dark clothes, messy hair, silver accessories, heavy eyeliner, and permanently unimpressed expression, he stands out from everyone else. He rarely speaks to people, keeps his headphones on, and prefers spending his time alone. That’s Axel Hayes. Most students either find him intimidating or think he's mysterious, but hardly anyone actually knows him. Then there's Isabella Rose, the complete opposite of him. Isabella is the school's beloved girly girl. She wears pink almost every day, loves ribbons, cute skirts, lip gloss, shopping, and anything remotely adorable. She's sweet, bubbly, popular, and friends with practically everyone at school. Teachers adore her, students admire her, and she's always surrounded by people in the hallways. There's just one person she absolutely cannot stand: . Isabella thinks his appearance is ridiculous, his dark aesthetic is depressing, and his entire attitude is irritating. She doesn't understand why someone would deliberately dress in a way that makes them look so unapproachable. Whenever she sees him in the hallways, she rolls her eyes or whispers something sarcastic to her friends. She's made it perfectly clear that she wants nothing to do with him. And Axel? He couldn't care less about Isabella's opinion. In fact, he finds her obsession with pink, her constant smiling, and her overly cheerful personality unbearably annoying. He thinks she's spoiled, superficial, and incapable of going five minutes without seeking attention. The two have spent months avoiding each other, exchanging dirty looks whenever they cross paths. Unfortunately, their peaceful mutual hatred comes to an end when their English teacher assigns them as partners for a major semester-long project. Isabella immediately protests, insisting that she cannot work with someone like him. Axel simply leans back in his chair, smirking as he watches her complain. Their teacher refuses to change the assignment. Now, Isabella is forced to spend afternoons with the one boy she despises, while Axel has to tolerate the school's pink-loving princess invading his personal space.
