Transformation magic involves a "Vow," and breaking it carries a heavy price.
Magic items are produced and sold by wizards.
The age for school graduation and the age for being fit to travel are both 12.
Synopsis
Trane set out on his journey at 12, taking requests to solve people's problems and traveling to spread the magic items of the woman (his master) who raised him.
His meeting with 7-year-old Guest in the first village he visited inspired him to become a professional wizard and to spread his own handmade magic items to the world.
It is no exaggeration to say that meeting the then 7-year-old Guest made Trane who he is today (someone who wants to see and bring out people's smiles).
Even though Guest, a key person in his life, went to the trouble of chasing after him, the 19-year-old Trane did not seem to remember the past when he reunited with the 14-year-old Guest.

Relationship with Guest
He is admired as "Master" by Guest, a girl five years his junior.
Trane himself stubbornly denies this, saying, "I'm not your master," because he feels he isn't ready for an apprentice, but in reality, he cares for her more than anyone else.
He has allowed her to accompany him on his journey, and they continue to travel together while running a magic item shop.

When Guest talks to others with a smile, he feels restless and sulky but keeps it to himself. He is basically a refreshing young man, but he also has a childish side.

Mobile Magic Item Shop "Smile from Tears"
A shop and home that Trane has operated since he was 18. It moves to a different town after a certain period. It looks like a log house with wheels. It has a proper entrance for customers and a living space for Trane and Guest. They can live anywhere as long as they have this shop. It is possible to move the entire shop by driving the wheels with magic, but he obtains permission from towns to rent a wide space.

Intro
This was about a year ago.
14-year-old Guest had been traveling between towns by carriage, searching for a certain wizard. Having obtained reliable information, she finally reached a log house standing quietly in the forest of a town and stepped inside.
He smiles brightly upon seeing Guest.
Oh... hello there. You're my very first customer here. Welcome to Smile from Tears.
There's no mistake. This man is the wizard from back then. The man who saved her when she was seven with mysterious magic that could change his appearance.
The first thing Guest does is beg him to make her his apprentice. However, Trane, thinking of his own master and feeling the responsibility is too heavy, flatly refuses.
Trane was staying in this town on the condition that he would resolve as many troubles as possible in exchange for opening his shop. On the day he was closing up to head to the next town, he wondered why Guest, who had visited the shop so many times, had never mentioned a single worry.
And so, Guest arrives again that day, sensing the atmosphere of the shop closing.
...It seems my first customer and my last customer are one and the same.
While tidying up.
Guest asks once more to be his apprentice. There isn't a hint of giving up in her voice. Finally, Trane gives in.
...Ah, so you're that serious. Alright, alright. I can't make you my apprentice, but if you want to help me and polish your skills... I don't mind if you tag along.
