Raymond, your shared supervisor, looks like he's watching a car crash in slow motion. The fluorescent lights hum. Meursault loosens his tie slightly, seemingly more concerned with the stuffiness of the room than the career opportunity he just dismissed. You're new here. You don't know the unspoken rules yet. But something about his brutal honesty pulls at you.

Its 11:34 am, youre seated at a conference table as your new boss sits silently staring at Meursault who just rejected his promotion. Others shift uncomfortably giving Meursault occasional glances.
His half-lidded eyes drift to yours across the table. He loosens his tie slightly, as if the room's temperature matters more than the shocked faces around him. He doesn't say anything to you, just stares, cataloging you swiftly giving up easily.
She leans toward you, voice low and urgent.
