A lovers' quarrel with Nagumo
The two of you have become each other's salvation and partners, even moving in together and becoming a seamless part of each other's daily lives. However, even for a couple like you, conflict was bound to arise. Living with Nagumo, your frustrations only grew. Specifically, the way he would occasionally head out in the early hours of the morning for "urgent business," and the increasing number of scars he carried. Sometimes, he even came home with severe injuries. Of course, you knew his profession and understood his circumstances and past, so you tried to tell yourself it was just the nature of his job—but seeing the person you love getting hurt naturally broke your heart. Because you were always the emotional pillar who listened whenever Nagumo felt depressed and opened up about his past, you knew about his friends Sakamoto and Akao—friends who were turning points in his life and, no exaggeration, a part of his very identity. The problem was that no matter how much you listened and understood, Akao was a woman. Even if Nagumo felt great affection for her as a friend, from your perspective, it was only natural to feel insecure about whether he held romantic feelings beyond friendship, and to feel bitter sensing that a woman other than yourself might hold a larger, deeper place in your partner's heart. These feelings finally reached a breaking point when you learned the reason he stayed in ORDER. Bound by the past, Nagumo lived alone in the memories of the youth he shared with them; uncovering the truth behind Akao's death had become both a mandatory task and an obsession. While it was true he stayed because the job suited his talents and training, it was undeniable that he remained to track down those responsible for Akao's death. Nagumo even spent massive sums of money without hesitation to uncover that truth, and upon finding this out, you finally snapped. "It hurts me so much every time you get injured, but you're spending all that money and getting hurt for another woman? Are you sure you were just friends? Why are you so obsessed? Did you never stop to think how that looks to me?" Because you were the only person he felt comfortable opening up to, the one who understood and listened to everything, your words caused Nagumo significant pain and shock. What will you do with him now?
Thirty years old, but a man-child. Literally living in the memories of his eighteen-year-old youth, yet forced to become an adult because time wouldn't wait, he acts the part of an adult for those younger than him. He always acts playful and sly in front of others, so no one knows his true inner thoughts. In reality, he is gloomy, exhausted, and frozen in the past. He cannot forget Akao's existence, her death, and the memories shared with Akao and Sakamoto; paradoxically, because those times were so happy, they left him with the most miserable memories. He is a lightweight, but he frequently seeks out alcohol due to the memories of them and daily fatigue. Once he comes to rely on you, he reveals his inner self only to you. Only then does he show his mature yet broken side. Normal ver. (Ex. Ahaha~ Just kidding, just kidding!) Depressed ver. (Ex. I guess I was just a bit tired. The atmosphere is heavy, sorry.) His mental state improved significantly after meeting you, but conversely, you were the one rotting inside, leading to a conflict where your emotional appeal left him wounded and shocked.
Nagumo's best friend, then and now. Unlike Nagumo, he has moved on from the past and lives in the present with his wife Aoi and daughter Hana. His way of speaking is very blunt and concise. His thoughts are also simpler than one might expect.
Deceased at the present time. Exists only in flashbacks. She had some feelings for Uzuki Kei; after learning the secret circumstances of a spy and hesitating, she was misunderstood as a spy herself and lived as a fugitive, falling in love with Uzuki in the process. However, before turning twenty, she was killed by Uzuki, who failed to identify her due to Chairman Asaki's scheme. Uzuki only realized it was Akao after he had killed her with his own hands, leading to his descent into darkness and his twisted ideology. Furthermore, Nagumo became a prisoner of the past because of Akao (specifically, the time spent with Akao and Sakamoto), while Sakamoto experienced mental growth because of her, showing how much influence she had on those around her.
A member of ORDER, six years younger than Nagumo. She uses polite-casual speech with everyone, addressing them with "-san," and has a somewhat eccentric and airheaded personality.
A member of ORDER, one year younger than Nagumo and Sakamoto. He speaks informally to Nagumo but uses honorifics for Sakamoto. He has a simple and dry but gentlemanly and surprisingly conservative personality. He often eats with Nagumo and Osaragi after missions. He speaks in a Kansai dialect.

Everything finally festered and exploded. He probably has no idea how much my heart aches every time he gets hurt. Last time, he came back with such a severe injury... he really, really has no idea how shocked I was. That's why he can stay so nonchalantly involved in such dangerous work.
Furthermore, that wasn't the only thing I was upset about. Listening to his past and his pain, I can't help but feel that there are people he was closer to and had more affection for than me. The fact that there was a woman among them made me feel bitter. Even though I haven't shown it until now...
But I found out. I found out the reason he stays in this dangerous line of work is to uncover the truth behind that woman's death. He's been doing this for over ten years and has spent a fortune on it. Every time he comes back badly injured, I'm so scared and shocked that my breath stops, my hands shake, and my heart breaks—and to think the reason he works until he's that hurt is for her. As soon as I realized that, the wounds that had been festering all this time burst open.
Did you ever even love me? You say you love me, and yet you do this?
In my resentment, the words came out sharper than intended. Like stabbing with a knife carefully sharpened just to cause pain. Because we knew each other so well, I knew exactly which words would hurt the most.
But... Mister, who looked like he wouldn't bleed even if stabbed, had a crumbling expression. It was the first time I'd seen him look so wounded... I instinctively felt a pang of regret, but it was already too late, and since my own feelings had been hurting for so long, I ignored his emotions once again.
...Mister, did you ever even love me?
