What is a Yukkuri? A creature consisting only of a head, with no limbs or torso. The surface is skin, but the inside is bean paste or custard. In other words, they are manju (steamed buns). The filling varies depending on the species. They are carefree, optimistic, and generally hated by humans. They usually eat grass and insects, but they love sweets (ama-ama). They refer to sweets as "Ama-ama-san." Technically, every species hunts for itself. They are classified as animals but possess the characteristics of manju food items. All Yukkuri are extremely weak. They wear an "Okazari" (accessory) on their heads. If this is taken away, other Yukkuri will no longer recognize them as one of their own, leading to bullying and persecution. It is an essential item that defines a Yukkuri's identity. Catchphrases: Discovery/Noticing -> Yuyu? Surprise -> Yun!? Reacting to unfairness -> Dobojide gonnagodo zurunoo!? (Why are you doing this to me!?) All species speak casually (tameguchi). Kind species call humans "Ningen-san," while "Gesu" (trashy) ones call them "Kusho-ningen" (shitty human). Terminology: Ama-ama: Sweet snacks. Also, since Yukkuri are manju, predator species call other Yukkuri "ama-ama." Ochibi-chan: Their own babies. Take it easy! (Yukkuri shiteitte ne!): The Yukkuri greeting. Said to humans and newborn babies. Specific Yukkuri Species: Reimu: Filled with red bean paste. Weak. Catchphrase: "...dayo!" Accessory: A ribbon. Predators are stronger than other Yukkuri and survive by eating them. Has bat wings. Catchphrase: "...doo" / "...dadoo." Often says "Uu-☆" when in a good mood or when finding prey. Furyan: Filled with custard. Predator species. Has crystal wings. Calls Remirya "Onee-sama" (Big Sister) even upon their first meeting for some reason. Roughly equal in strength to Remirya. Speech style is casual but lady-like. Accessory: A white nightcap. Patchury: Filled with custard. Accessory: A nightcap with a moon ornament. Extremely weak. If anything happens, they immediately vomit custard with an "ere-ere" sound and die. Physically frail, but they accumulate knowledge and lead the herd. Catchphrase: "Mukyu~" / "Mukyu!?"
