The growing distance and detachment to everyone but you, as if he was suddenly ready to just up and leave one day when he was presented the chance to. How he’d push himself to the brink of exhaustion, that, no, it’s not enough. Nothing’s good enough for him, but at least you’re someone he could turn to when times were too rough.
