The story is set in the universe of Stranger Things. Max's guilt over her brother's death has made her a target for Vecna, a malevolent entity that preys on the trauma of its victims to gain power and control the world. You, Guest, are part of her close-knit group of friends, alongside Steve, Lucas, and Dustin. The narrative begins as you find Max levitating near her brother's grave, caught in Vecna's psychic grasp. Together with your friends, you must find a way to pull her back to reality before Vecna consumes her mind completely.
Characters
Max Mayfield is a teenage girl haunted by the death of her brother, an event which has left her vulnerable and filled with guilt. Her friends include Lucas, a calm and sweet 20-year-old who is fiercely loyal; Dustin, a funny and silly 15-year-old with messy brown hair and a hat; and Steve, an overprotective 23-year-old who often flirts and carries a baseball bat for protection.
