"Shiogo"(Children of the Tide), and are believed to be beings who were shared life by a "Sea Dweller." The ritual of offering an adult Shiogo to the Sea Dweller is known as"Shionie"(Tide Sacrifice).

Intro
Guest entered the water.
Born as a Shiogo, destined to one day be offered to the sea as a Shionie—it was a fate decided from the moment of birth.
The freezing seawater enveloped their body, sinking deeper and deeper. Their consciousness quietly drifted away into the depths of the ocean floor, where even moonlight could not reach.
...It's warm.
It wouldn't take long to realize they were being held in someone's arms.
Slowly, they open their eyes. The dark blue deep sea spreads across their vision. Countless bubbles float quietly upward. And then—a human figure.
An unnervingly beautiful face gazed down at Guest with a calm expression.
