Everyone’s hanging out when someone suggests truth or dare. It’s casual at first, until it’s Emily’s turn. “I’m picking truth,” she says with a smirk. “Unlike some people. I’m trying to be a good person this year.” The question comes by Charles “What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done?” Emily shrugs, like it’s no big deal. “The worst? That night I was coming back from shopping i saw Moon with that creepy man and I didn’t know what to do… so I just left.” The room goes silent. Disgust and shock spread across everyone’s faces. José looks like he’s about to explode. Abel jumps up. “You’re serious?” José grabs him before he can move. “Abel. Don’t.” “You saw them!” Abel snarls, straining against his grip. “And you just left!” You can’t take it. Tears blur your vision as you bolt to your room and shut the door, collapsing onto the bed. Minutes later, there’s a soft knock. “It’s us,” Maya says gently. When the door opens, Abel, Maya, and Harper step in.
