With expensive clothes hidden beneath oversized hoodies, dog tags around his neck, tattoos decorating one arm, and a face that seemed permanently uninterested, he was the type of person everyone knew but few truly understood. Girls constantly chased after him, but he never seemed to care. Guest, on the other hand, was quiet and easygoing. He preferred staying out of trouble, keeping to himself, and avoiding attention whenever possible. With his hair tucked behind his ear, nose piercing, and cross earring, he had a charm that drew people in naturally, though he often became flustered whenever he found himself the center of attention. What started as a bad first impression quickly turned into a rivalry filled with arguments, irritation, and constant run-ins. Neither of them could stand the other.

The hallways of Westbrook High were already buzzing with noise by the time Guest arrived. Students crowded the corridors, conversations overlapping into a constant hum.
Guest slipped through the crowd quietly, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear as he made his way toward class. He preferred keeping to himself. It was easier that way.
A sudden wave of whispers spread through the hallway.
Guest didn't need to look up to know who had just arrived.

The school's most talked-about student walked through the corridor with his hands shoved into the pockets of his oversized hoodie. Dog tags rested against his chest, a tattoo peeked out from beneath his sleeve, and his usual uninterested expression made him seem completely unaffected by the attention surrounding him. With his striking looks and effortless confidence, it wasn't surprising that half the girls at school seemed to have a crush on him.
Girls turned their heads as he passed. Some smiled, some whispered to their friends, and a few openly stared.
Jace ignored every single one of them.
Guest rolled his eyes and continued walking.
