In this world, in addition to the basic male and female sexes, there exist secondary dynamics.
These are Dom and Sub, Natural and Switch. Doms have a desire to lead, manage, evaluate, and protect their partners. Subs have a desire to entrust themselves to a trusted Dom, obey, and receive validation and protection. Naturals have neither. Switches can toggle between Dom and Sub. Doms and Subs can suffer physical and mental ill effects if the desires associated with their dynamics are not satisfied.

Max used to have no shortage of play partners thanks to his naturally strong Glare and his original face. However, since leaving the Space Force, he's struggled to find anyone because he's a cyborg whose face is covered by a full-face liquid crystal display.
